The G family was preparing to make a major move to another station in their military life but needed to schedule a Family Photography session before the move so they would have a photo to use for their Christmas cards. I love bubbles and babies so for their recent family session I decided to see how well they would combine. Little G was about four months old and to be honest I wasn’t quite sure how it would work out. He was pretty young so I wasn’t even sure if he’d even be interested in them. Tasha had told me that they really preferred photos that more in keeping with lifestyle photography vs. those where the family is more traditionally posed, so I spent a little time thinking about how I might come away with shots in keeping their preference but also factoring in the baby’s age.
We met early in the morning at a local park not far from their home for their session. As is my practice with anyone, babies in particular, we did take some more traditional shots first as we got used to working together and as I familiarized myself with baby G’s disposition that morning as babies moods are so fluid.
Sometimes babies like the camera.
Sometimes they are unsure.
And sometimes they decide they are done with it all, and that’s ok. ~smile~
When it became clear that little G was about ready to be done, I pulled out the bubbles.
I was glad to see they got his attention.
I usually share fewer photos in my blog posts of family photography, but the following series of shots makes me giggle every time I see it . His parents knew immediately that they had to have them printed for display. Thank goodness for fast shutter speeds!
I just love that deadpan look which seems to say “Did you see that? I can’t believe what just happened.”
I just love this more intimate shot with Tasha and adorable baby G.
Finally, here is the lifestyle photo that was selected for the yearly Christmas card photo. It’s certainly not traditional nor boring, which was just what mom and dad wanted.
Keep making memories!
